We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Back-End Developer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and PostgreSQL. The ideal candidate will bring prior Freddie Mac domain knowledge, deep hands-on development experience, and the ability to design and implement scalable back-end systems. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, adherence to best engineering practices, and the ability to deliver high-quality, reliable, and maintainable software solutions. Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable back-end services using Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate. Work with PostgreSQL databases, including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning. Write unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito to ensure code quality and reliability. Collaborate with front-end and full-stack teams, integrating with Angular-based applications (nice to have). Work with event-driven architectures; exposure to Kafka is a plus. Apply past Freddie Mac domain knowledge to ensure compliance, efficiency, and alignment with business requirements. Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and contribute to best practices for software development. Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize back-end services for performance and scalability. Work onsite (5 days / week), collaborating closely with stakeholders and development teams. What You’ll Bring
7+ years of experience in back-end development with Java and enterprise-grade systems. Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, PostgreSQL. Hands-on experience with JUnit and Mockito for testing. Freddie Mac domain knowledge (must-have). Familiarity with Angular (nice to have). Exposure to Kafka or similar messaging / event-driven platforms (nice to have). Strong understanding of back-end design principles, RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and database-driven applications. Proven ability to work onsite in a collaborative team environment.
