A Day in the Life: In this exciting and challenging role as a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer, your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and implementing testing methods and equipment. Plans and arranges schedules and equipment required for verifying products. Provides test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed. Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements. Responsible for writing verification test plans and reports. This will be a hybrid position which requires the person to be onsite for test method development and supervising of product verification testing. There will be 30-40% travel to outside labs. This position is an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronic\'s Diabetes business. Support design verification activities associated with a family of insulin delivery pump/transmitter systems used by individuals to effectively manage Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. Support EMC testing and global RF licensing activities of new and existing products (in-house or third-party labs). Support the development and implementation of EMC design guidelines and best practices. Operate a fully equipped semi-anechoic chamber and electrical testing equipment, such as DMM, spectrum analyzer, signal generators, power amplifiers, microscopes, oscilloscopes. Develop and document design verification test protocol, plans, and reports in compliance with FDA/ISO and global regulations. Stay current with industry standards and advancements in EMC technology. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Ops, Regulatory, Quality). Demonstrate exceptional communication and technical writing skills. Work collaboratively with stakeholders to establish and support development and testing strategies for the product and system. Design basic electrical equipment, tools, test fixtures. Required Knowledge and Experience

Requires a Bachelor\'s degree and minimum of 10 years of relevant experience OR Master\'s degree with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience OR PhD with 6 years relevant experience. Nice to Haves

Experienced with test equipment such as DMM, spectrum analyzer, signal generators, power amplifiers etc. Familiar with EMC test standards. MS in Electrical Engineering. Familiarity with lab/testing environment. Experience in Medical Device/FDA Regulated Industry and compliance with IEC60601-1-2. Familiarity with EMC standards and RF regulations (e.g., FCC, EN, CISPR). Excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience in SMT soldering. Ability to function as a team member in a collaborative work environment. Attention to detail. Good organizational skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Salary ranges for U.S. locations (USD): $162,400.00 - $243,600.00. This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
