Job Description
Senior SDET – Quality Engineering, RBC Capital Markets, LLC, Minneapolis, MN.
Provide support to the Quality Engineering Manager on estimation and work allocation for the team, acting as a release lead in full capacity. Support overall quality engineering strategy and provide subject matter expertise and leadership on test case architecture and design. Lead the execution of operational frameworks, processes, and tools, and utilize organizational change‑management practices to empower staff. Recommend solutions and contribute to QE workstreams, implementing QE programs through optimized test case architecture and automation across the portfolio. Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and business partners from initiation to close. Automate test cases using RBC’s recommended automation framework, executing test cases manually and/or running automated scripts. Coordinate QE tasks with offshore vendor partners and mentor new team members on application architecture, flows, and domain.
Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.
Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week. Base salary: $124,883 per year, plus discretionary bonus and benefits (401(k), health, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, and paid time‑off plan).
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and at least 8 years of total work experience, including 5 progressive, post‑baccalaureate years.
7 years of experience in quality engineering processes, methodologies, and test‑design techniques, ensuring effective testing and software quality through structured activities.
5 years of experience in:
Test management tools such as JIRA, qTest, and Quality Center for planning, tracking, and reporting QA initiatives.
Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and defect‑management processes.
Iterative Waterfall and Agile project methodologies, enabling adaptive development through continuous feedback.
Test‑automation frameworks and tools (e.g., SoapUI, Selenium, Appium, UFT, RestAssured, Robot Framework, TestNG) and scripting in Perl, Python, and Bash.
Agile and DevOps environments focused on test integration and lifecycle efficiency.
Testing KPIs and QE metrics to measure and improve testing effectiveness.
4 years of experience with test‑automation tools (Selenium and Java) to execute automated tests for functionality and performance assessment.
3 years of experience in:
Test databases (SQL, Oracle, DB2) for comprehensive UI, business, and data‑access layer testing.
QE test environments for technical automated testing across cloud, distributed systems, mainframes, business workflows, APIs, and databases.
