Hiring Manager: Manager Department: BDC Fund Accounting Department Overview
The BDC Fund Accounting Department is responsible for the financial and investor reporting associated with Golub Capital’s Business Development Companies (“BDCs”) which includes Golub Capital BDC, Inc. (NASDAQ: GBDC), Golub Capital Direct Lending Corporation, Golub Capital Direct Lending Unlevered Corporation, Golub Capital BDC 4, Inc. and Golub Capital Private Credit Fund. The team provides accounting and SEC reporting for the BDCs and their subsidiaries pursuant to the governing operating and investment management agreements and in accordance with U.S. GAAP. BDC Fund Accounting also provides Golub Capital’s management companies and leadership with reporting and analysis in support of existing business and new initiatives. Responsibilities (Primary)
Preparing the quarterly and annual reports on Form 10-Q / 10-K for review by Manager Preparing quarterly earnings releases and other investor communications Preparing periodic 8-Ks for debt facility amendments, new originations and earnings conference calls Monitoring and ensuring timely identification and compliance with evolving accounting guidance, providing US GAAP interpretation and preparing technical memorandums that document issues clearly Assisting with the coordination of the annual audit and quarterly review of activities by external auditors Assisting the BDC Fund Accounting Team to drive operational efficiencies and strong controllership Assisting in various ad hoc projects and requests Responsibilities (Broader Team)
Maintaining the general ledger and optimizing automated entries; minimizing manual entries Preparing the monthly and quarterly close package for senior management review Preparing quarterly and annual forecasts Assisting with periodic capital calls, distributions and IRR statements Understanding the structure of the BDC including its subsidiaries and debt facilities Facilitating quarterly and annual debt compliance activities Completing SOX controls for month-end close and quarterly reporting Developing understanding of the private credit environment, trends and portfolio metrics Qualifications
Required/Preferred: Bachelor’s degree required (Accounting or Finance majors preferred) 1+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a similar business or industry Public accounting and SEC reporting experience is strongly desired CPA is a plus Proficiency in Excel; PowerPoint, Wall Street Office, Workday or other general ledger packages are a strong plus Strong accounting skills and instincts Comfort working in a fluid environment under various managers Strong analytical skills and ability to operationalize complex agreements and account for investments, incentive fee arrangements and partner allocations Strong verbal and written communication skills Enthusiastic about working in office and creating a Gold Standard hybrid work culture Compensation & Benefits
For Illinois Only: It is expected that the base salary range for this position will be $70,000 - $105,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as skills, experiences and qualifications for the role. The total compensation package may include other elements and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation, sick time and parental leave) dependent on the position offered.
