Day in the Life As the Food Safety Coordinator, you manage and lead all aspects of local sites’ food safety monitoring and verification programs. You work closely with internal partners – Sanitation, Quality, Operations, and Safety – ensuring ongoing compliance to internal and external food safety policies, procedures, SSOPs, laws, and regulations.
Responsibilities
Oversight and verification of food safety & quality programs: sanitation verification, CCPs & PRPs, document control, environmental monitoring.
Lead the Food Safety Team – annual program reviews, updates on new products, equipment, and building modifications.
Design, implement, and train on plant and corporate QUAs.
Audit and reporting: trend analysis, GMP inspections, self‑inspections, support third‑party audits, manage non‑conforming reports.
Root cause analysis and corrective & preventive actions.
Verification of food safety and quality programs across departments.
Lead food safety & quality initiatives and act as backup to the FSQA Manager.
Adhere to GMP and complete FSQA training to maintain compliance.
Report and take appropriate action on observed hazards or non‑conformities.
Contribute to continuous improvement of the Food Safety Culture.
Lindt Production Way (LPW)
Participate in LPW pillars and teams, supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Apply TPM methodology and lean tools (5S, 5 Why, Kaizen) to monitor, report, and reduce defects.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science or equivalent work experience.
Two or more years in a food safety role leading people.
Proficient knowledge of FDA regulations, GMPs, HACCP, food allergens, pest control, and Principles of Food Safety.
MS Office and SAP/CRM experience.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Physical ability to stand or sit extended periods; willing to work weekends or after‑hours.
Comfortable working at elevated heights and with roof inspections.
Color vision and color shift recognition.
Excellent written and verbal English communication.
Preferred Qualifications
HACCP certification.
PCQI certification with document control experience.
