Overview
Worldwide Operations Security (WWOS) is the global organization that supports field Security and Loss Prevention and is designed to support Amazon’s Worldwide Operations, as well as affiliate and retail businesses.
Position Summary The Security and Loss Prevention Specialist (SLP Specialist) is a key hourly position within Amazon Operations. The SLP Specialist leads the effort to efficiently and effectively protect people, product and data in a designated building. The SLP Specialist reports to the Security and Loss Prevention Cluster Manager and supports the operational team and cross‑functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct confidential investigations and prepare prompt written reports of theft, fraud, and critical incidents.
Contribute to identifying vulnerabilities and define appropriate mitigating actions while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Serve as department liaison and security/crisis‑management subject‑matter expert for site leadership, keeping them informed on key issues, strategies, and departmental performance.
Develop strategies for alarm reduction and conduct system diagnostics for problematic devices by engaging and resolving issues with internal and external partners.
Travel domestically up to 25% of the time when required.
Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach; stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts; work in varying noise, temperature, and weather conditions.
Work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, for 24/7 operations.
A day in the life As a SLP Specialist, you will join a team of Security and Loss Prevention professionals providing security as a service to business customers across multiple business units within a designated geographical area. You will perform regular physical security audits, investigate policy violations, security‑related incidents, and loss events. You collect information by monitoring systems, analyzing data reports, and conducting interviews. Your findings help identify vulnerabilities and you contribute to developing mitigating measures. You maintain the physical integrity of fulfillment, logistics, and retail locations by auditing and monitoring system health with subject‑matter experts and external suppliers. You interact daily with external security service providers to ensure high‑quality services and smooth customer experience. You also act as point of contact for internal and external stakeholders and deliver loss prevention education and awareness programs across all management levels.

Qualifications
High school or equivalent diploma.
2+ years of blue badge Amazon experience OR 1+ year in security service OR loss prevention OR asset protection OR investigations OR law enforcement OR operations OR Loss Prevention Qualified Career Choice Graduate.
1+ year of experience using Microsoft Office, including Excel, in a professional capacity.
Experience with workplace incident mitigation, de‑escalation, and business continuity planning.
Experience making and influencing informed decisions by leveraging data and metrics.
Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, multi‑tasking environment.
Ability to effectively communicate, collaborate, network, and influence across all business levels in a diverse workforce environment.
1+ year of leadership or management and/or supply chain experience.
Investigative interviewing experience.
Certifications such as Loss Prevention Qualified, Certified Protection Professional, or other relevant certifications.
Experience in physical security systems maintenance/implementation and coordinating scope of work with security vendors.

Compensation and Benefits Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $44,200 per year in our lowest geographic market up to $72,600 per year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Depending on the position offered, equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
