KIPP New Jersey, a free, open‑enrollment college‑preparatory public school network, is seeking a motivated and dedicated Elementary School Teacher for the 2025‑2026 school year in Newark’s South Ward. Job Description As a teacher at KIPP New Jersey you will have opportunities for growth and the responsibility to shape future leaders.
Responsibilities
Create, internalize, modify, and prepare lesson plans in accordance with the academic curriculum, working closely with the grade‑level team
Use data to responsively teach to mastery of academic skills
Work closely with students, families, and colleagues to create an environment supportive of student progress
Reinforce a firm foundation for all classes and uphold classroom management techniques
Help with diagnostic and progress monitoring testing across the school
Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to ensure all students meet the learning objectives
Update student performance trackers and use data to help guide lesson plans
Participate in school, departmental, and parent meetings
Participate in school events, activities, and programs both during and outside of regular class instruction hours

Certification Requirements
Hold a valid teaching certification in New Jersey – or –
Meet the GPA requirement (see details below)
GPA Requirement
If you graduated after September 2016: Have a bachelor’s or master’s GPA ≥ 3.0 – OR –
Have a bachelor’s or master’s GPA between 2.75 and 3.0 AND demonstrate that you have passed all required Praxis exams with a +10% passing score (super scores)
If you graduated before September 2016: Have a bachelor’s or master’s GPA ≥ 2.75
