The Opportunity We are seeking a Business Finance & Accounting Leader who will report to the Area Sr. Finance Manager – New England Area and support the Area Sr. Finance Manager – Ohio River Valley. This individual will be responsible for one or two manufacturing plants, partnering with the site General Manager to influence plant personnel through fact‑based analysis, provide insights, and drive improvements in operations, sales and overall profitability.

Responsibilities

Budget & Financial preparation and reporting.

Prepares annual budget and quarterly forecasts in conjunction with the plant General Manager.

Utilizes KPIs and plant initiatives to project future growth opportunities.

Collaborates with Commercial Business leads to challenge and validate top‑line revenue expectations.

Communicates the organization’s values effectively.

Creates simplified budget and reporting processes.

Balances financial and non‑financial indicators.

Leads monthly results communication with clear reports and key impactful items.

Monitors weekly results tracking and recommends actions to exceed targets.

Serves as a consultant to business partners to develop improvement plans.

Provides cost take‑out support, review and tracking.

Strategic Planning (CAPEX).

Partners with the General Manager on future and long‑range capital needs.

Understands competitor strengths and weaknesses.

Ensures timely closure of all capital projects after in‑service date.

Develops financial models and tracks investment returns monthly.

Conducts post audits after project maturity.

Internal Controls.

Oversees all internal controls and ensures decisions are made by authorized personnel.

Maintains documented company policies for expense spending and inventory.

Performs quarterly balance‑sheet reviews with accounting.

Optimizes processes through IT improvement and implementation.

Drives process improvements using best practices.

Conducts annual fixed‑asset audit.

Profitability Analysis.

Provides ongoing customer profitability analysis to correct margin erosion.

Aligns customer profitability analysis with plant performance.

Facilitates discussions on margin improvement via volume, price, or operational changes.

Provides or reviews PAT for current and new customers.

Discusses staffing and headcount decisions.

Accounting.

Reviews plant WIP, finished goods and raw material values.

Creates or reviews site monthly journal entries.

Reclassifies P&L accounts as necessary.

Assists with inventory counts and reconciliations.

Monitors customer rebates and cost‑take‑out accruals.

Working Capital / Cash Flow Monitoring.

Facilitates decision‑making processes that improve working capital.

Partners with accounts receivable to resolve short‑term issues.

Supports plant personnel on purchase order and receipt procedures.

Ad Hoc Analysis.

Compares plant performance to similar plants.

Assesses profitability improvement programs.

Delivers plant visit decks to senior leadership.

Educates plant personnel on data usage and visualization tools.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration; CPA and/or MBA preferred.

10+ years in corporate or operations finance.

Experience in the paper and packaging industry or another manufacturing environment.

Proven ability to influence diverse teams and manage hiring, development and performance.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Excellent verbal and written communication; experience as a business partner to operational leaders.

Self‑starter, self‑directed, passionate about continuous improvement and growth.

Proficient with AS400, BPCS, Radius, MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and pivot tables; Hyperion experience desired.
