Title of Position Local Content Manager

Basic Responsibilities
Coordinate daily news coverage, working with the News Director to cover local news stories for KACU newscasts, website, social media and newsletter. The Content Manager will also help direct newscast guidance for on-air hosts.
Oversee KACU’s oral history project, West Texas Roots, collecting individual stories that demonstrate the unique history of West Texas. The Content Manager will coordinate recording dates and locations for rural communities, working with local historical societies, libraries or other community members. The content manager will oversee editing of interviews into segments that will air on KACU-FM, and be hosted at KACU.org.
Plan and execute the weekly talk show, West Texas Dispatch, in coordination with the News Director, show host and other reporters.
Other duties as assigned will include on-air fundraising, events, and special projects.

Professional Development Requirements Journalism
Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field
Broadcast writing experience
Audio recording experience
Audio editing and mixing experience
Photography basic knowledge
Training Required

Qualifications Professional
Bachelors Degree in Journalism or related field
2 years of reporting experience preferred

Ability to work in a mentoring role with student journalists
Physical Demands
Must be able to drive to events and interviews
Must be able to stand for long periods and hold recording equipment
