Responsibilities
Lead the technical architecture of a secure, resilient, and scalable hybrid environment (Azure, AWS, and on-premises). Define integration strategies for legacy systems and cloud-based workloads. Develop infrastructure standards, policies, and lifecycle strategies to guide modernization. Serve as the lead technical expert (Level 4) for infrastructure, virtualization, networking, and cloud services. Work on-site to provide hands-on leadership in system implementation, maintenance, and performance optimization. Provide after-hours support and overtime as needed during critical cutovers, incidents, or emergency responses. Act as a SME and technical mentor to Information Technology (“IT”) staff, supporting internal knowledge transfer and skill-building. Mentor IT staff on Microsoft 365, Intune, Azure Backup, and Endpoint Manager operations. Design secure architectures compliant with CJIS, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and state/local law enforcement standards. Oversee identity architecture (Active Directory, Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), AWS IAM, MFA, RBAC). Oversee the Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) infrastructure, ensure encryption, access control, auditability, and secure connectivity across environments. Guide the phased migration of infrastructure workloads and services to cloud platforms. Architect hybrid networking (VPN, SD-WAN, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect) and ensure connectivity with public safety systems. Utilize Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, PowerShell, CloudFormation) to automate deployments. Qualifications / Requirements
Experience designing hybrid cloud and on-prem architectures (Azure, AWS, on-prem). Experience with identity, access, and security architecture (AD, Azure AD, Entra ID, AWS IAM, PKI, MFA, RBAC). Cloud migration and automation skills (IaC: Terraform, PowerShell, CloudFormation). Strong leadership, mentoring, and knowledge-transfer abilities for IT staff. Ability to work on-site and provide hands-on leadership; availability for after-hours support during critical events. Knowledge of CJIS, NIST, and applicable legal standards; ability to design compliant architectures. Experience with VPN/SD-WAN ExpressRoute Direct Connect and secure connectivity across environments. Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Intune, Azure Backup, and Endpoint Manager operations is a plus.
