Full-Time Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated

Project Engineer

to join our team and support the successful execution of

water and wastewater infrastructure projects . The Project Engineer works closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent to manage project documentation, scheduling, cost tracking, and field coordination while ensuring compliance with design standards, safety protocols, and project requirements. This role is ideal for professionals who are hands-on, organized, and eager to develop a deep understanding of the construction process within the water and wastewater industry. Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination & Documentation

Support the Project Manager and Superintendent in all aspects of project execution.

Maintain and update project information in

Procore

or related project management platforms.

Generate, track, and log

RFIs (Requests for Information)

and

PCOs (Potential Change Orders) .

Assist with the preparation, review, and processing of

submittals , ensuring accuracy and timely approval.

Coordinate with engineers, vendors, and suppliers to release approved materials for fabrication or installation.

Organize and maintain project records, logs, and documentation in compliance with company standards.

Procurement & Cost Control

Assist in issuing and tracking

purchase orders

and

subcontracts .

Support in maintaining and updating the

bill of materials (BOM)

for ongoing projects.

Monitor project budgets and assist in maintaining profitability through cost control and accurate billing.

Help ensure project overbillings and maintain positive

% billed vs. % time

metrics.

Scheduling & Field Support

Assist in monitoring and updating the

CPM schedule

to keep projects on or ahead of plan.

Verify and document material deliveries to job sites.

Support the Superintendent to ensure proper utilization and maintenance of field equipment, minimizing rental costs and maximizing productivity.

Participate in regular project and coordination meetings.

Safety & Quality Assurance

Promote and enforce

safe work practices

through pre-planning and proactive measures.

Support compliance with company, client, and OSHA safety requirements.

Ensure projects are executed according to

contract documents, design specifications, and industry standards .

Project Lifecycle Support

Assist with

project startup , including documentation, preconstruction coordination, and schedule setup.

Participate in

project closeout , ensuring completion of punch lists, as-builts, and final documentation.

Maintain and track

record drawings

throughout the project.

Professional Growth & Collaboration

Demonstrate curiosity and initiative in learning all aspects of water and wastewater facility construction.

Contribute to a team-oriented environment that enhances company performance and reputation.

Promptly escalate any safety, quality, or performance issues that could impact the project’s success.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).

2–5 years of construction experience, ideally in

water, wastewater, or heavy civil projects .

Proficiency with

Procore ,

Microsoft Office , and construction scheduling tools.

Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Understanding of construction documentation, submittal processes, and field coordination.

Knowledge of safety practices and OSHA standards.

Self-motivated with the ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
