Senior Software Engineer - Trading, Order Management Are you a thoughtful engineer who thrives on designing scalable systems that bring order and clarity to complex workflows? Do you enjoy collaborating across disciplines to deliver performant, intuitive solutions that empower users in high‑stakes environments? Are you excited to leverage your technical expertise to build innovative order management functionality from the ground up? If so, we invite you to be a part of our innovative team.

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Order Management team at Ridgeline, you’ll take a leading role in building core trading workflows used by investment professionals to place, route, and manage orders. You'll collaborate with product managers and designers to create seamless, high‑performance experiences that meet the demands of a modern asset management platform. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys tackling multifaceted engineering challenges and wants to shape how trading technology works in a cloud‑native, enterprise‑grade system. You’ll work with cutting‑edge technologies—including AI tools like GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT—to accelerate development and improve engineering outcomes. At Ridgeline, how we work matters as much as what we build.

Ridgeliners act like owners, choose growth over comfort, and communicate with transparency. We assume positive intent, bias toward action, and bring solutions—not just problems. We celebrate wins, learn from setbacks, and thrive in a resilient, collaborative, high‑performing culture. If this excites you, we’d love to meet you.

You must be work authorized in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.

The impact you will have:

Design and build scalable order management workflows that support trading, allocations, and compliance integration

Collaborate closely with product and design partners to deliver elegant and effective user experiences

Develop services and APIs that ensure accuracy, performance, and auditability of order‑related data

Own features from conception to delivery with a high degree of autonomy and accountability

Contribute to system architecture and promote engineering best practices across the team

Leverage AI‑assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT to enhance productivity and code quality

Participate in code reviews and mentor junior team members with a spirit of continuous learning and improvement

Embrace a growth mindset, actively seek feedback, and look for opportunities to improve both systems and processes

Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑performing environment

What we look for:

5+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally building enterprise SaaS or financial technology

Strong experience with modern programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, or Go

Familiarity with cloud‑native development and distributed systems architecture

Proven ability to own projects end‑to‑end and deliver high‑quality software in production environments

Experience working with trading systems or order management workflows is a plus

Comfort working in a fast‑paced, startup environment with evolving priorities

Commitment to testing, documentation, and writing maintainable code

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Willingness to learn about cutting‑edge technologies while cultivating deep domain expertise

Serious interest in having fun at work

Bonus:

Experience with highly available systems

Familiarity with investment workflows such as portfolio modeling, compliance, or post‑trade

Exposure to AI tools in the software development lifecycle
