Together we can transform the future of energy. Responsibilities Join us in leading the change! Electric Power Engineers, Inc. (EPE) is seeking a Software Developer to be part of a dynamic and highly technical team. In this role, you will work alongside senior developers and engineers to help develop, maintain, and deploy cutting-edge cloud-based software products that serve the energy industry. You will have opportunities to work with the latest technologies and contribute to a growing portfolio of products that are helping shape the future of power systems. Collaborate with the software team to design, develop, test, and deploy cloud-based software solutions for the energy sector. Assist in maintaining and enhancing existing applications, ensuring scalability, performance, and security. Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, coding, testing, and deployment. Work with technologies like Python, React, Typescript, Java, Kotlin, Docker, and Kubernetes. Contribute to code reviews, bug fixes, and performance tuning to ensure high-quality deliverables. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of products. Continuously learn new technologies and approaches to software development.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a similar technical field Minimum 5 years of experience developing software or SaaS products Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and version control (e.g., Git) Strong understanding of software development principles, algorithms, and data structures Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team Experience mentoring Junior Developers Ability to navigate new codebases, drive data-driven refactoring decisions, and contribute code Experience handling large data sets and data processing pipelines/ETL Knowledge of AWS Athena and Parquet files Proficiency in SQL and relational databases

Preferred Education And Experience

Knowledge of cloud-based solutions, specifically AWS Familiarity with ArcGIS and geospatial data Exposure to analytics or engineering software in the energy sector is a plus
