Pay range: $19.41/hr - $25.85/hr. Actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.

Responsibilities

Maintains carpets by vacuuming, spot cleaning, and performing light and heavy carpet extraction; maintains hard‑surface floors by sweeping, spot mopping, mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing and refurbishing; uses chemical cleaners, strippers, and waxes; performs high‑level vacuuming of vents, ceilings, fixtures, and ledges.

Cleans and sanitizes all surfaces and floors in patient rooms, clinical areas, support space, public areas, office space, and restrooms, including mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, spot cleaning carpets, dust mopping, wet mopping, damp wiping, and high dusting; cleans and sanitizes equipment such as beds, stretchers, and bassinets; uses chemical cleaners and disinfectants.

Collects trash, linen, and trash carts; empties and cleans trash bins; operates trash compactor and waste sterilization equipment.

Makes beds, cribs, and stretchers; moves furniture and other equipment for cleaning; operates EVS cleaning equipment.

Stocks EVS closets and carts; replenishes dispensers of soap, paper towels, toilet paper, alcohol‑based hand sanitizer, and disposable seat covers.

Responds to patient requests in a customer‑focused and timely manner and utilizes I CARE and other patient experience tools.

Required Qualifications

Some healthcare, janitorial, custodial experience.

Stable work history.

Read, write, speak, and communicate in English.

Read and understand procedures and instructions for proper chemical uses to safely perform tasks and projects.

Consistent and punctual attendance.

Teamwork skills.

Competently use cleaning solutions and equipment.

Ability to work in a busy environment with many interruptions, demands, and interactions.

Regular attendance by coming to work on scheduled days.

Work independently and get along with all staff, visitors, and patients.

High level of physical activity; strength, agility, ability to bend, stoop, climb, walk, and lift up to 35 lbs.

Work at a rapid pace; a great deal of the day is spent on your feet.

Perform essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

6 months of employment experience in custodial, housekeeping, or environmental services, preferably healthcare.

High school diploma or GED.
