What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
Support the facility coding education program to ensure appropriate reimbursement and compliance with industry standards
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in inpatient or outpatient hospital coding activities
Resolve CCI, OCE, and Medical Necessity edits in radiology, laboratory, and medicine areas using CMS and payor-specific guidance
Assist in educating new hires on facility inpatient or outpatient record types according to AHA Official Coding Guidelines
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to address issues related to accurate coding, documentation, and denials
What is Required (Qualifications):
RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, COC, or CIRCC licensure
High School Diploma or GED
5+ years of hospital coding experience in one core area
Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT coding principles and guidelines
Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
Associate or Bachelor Degree
CRC or CPMA licensure
Extensive knowledge of HCPCS and CPT coding related to charging
Ability to apply coding principles for correct charging, including Infusion & Injection Hierarchy
