Reporting to the Engagement & Retention Manager, the CRM Specialist will be responsible for the strategy, coordination and execution of CRM activities. You will be working on an end-to-end delivery; from capturing campaign requirements to planning, developing, QA’ing and launching CRM campaigns and multi-channel communication journeys. This includes email creation, setting up and optimizing promotions and push notifications. You’ll be highly motivated and excel at managing multiple projects simultaneously to test and execute immediate change. You’ll have a high impact on Zipcar’s member lifecycle experience and drive key business metrics.

What you’ll do:

Drive CRM strategy and oversee end-to-end execution of campaigns.

Work with Data Engineering to integrate and structure data for audience segmentation and content personalization.

Gather CRM campaign requirements with the Marketing team and other stakeholders.

Own the CRM calendar and weekly/monthly/quarterly planning.

Collaborate with IT/Engineering on CRM feeds and data flow.

Manage relationships with third‑party CRM vendors.

Share new and emerging CRM best practices across the business.

Own CRM campaign analytics and reporting.

Develop and maintain email automation workflows that nurture members and improve retention.

Manage promotional campaigns end-to-end, including setup, QA, and building targeted audiences.

Build, test, and deploy push notifications to optimize customer journeys.

What we’re looking for:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field.

3+ years’ experience in a CRM/Email Marketing role.

HTML & CSS expertise (ability to code from scratch).

Proficient with SQL and SOQL queries.

Experience with AMPScript and scripting for email personalization.

Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar ESP platforms.

Experience with multi‑channel marketing communication.

Proven track record developing high‑quality digital user experiences.

Strong understanding of information architecture.

Experience managing promotional campaigns, including setup, QA, and audience targeting.

Experience deploying push notifications to optimize journeys.

Ability to prioritize and multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.

Strong cross‑team collaboration and relationship building.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Entrepreneurial spirit and strong sense of ownership.

Meticulous attention to detail and systematic problem‑solving approach.

Experience with Agile methodology.

The annual starting salary for this position is $75,000–$80,000 per year, based on geography, skills, education, and experience.
