GEICO Tech is looking for a highly motivated

DevOps Engineer II

to join our

Commissions & Substantiation Platform team . In this role, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams to help build a Finance Data Lake from the ground up.

*The ideal candidate has expertise in DevOps with a good understanding of Data Engineering ranging from managing backend resources to system reliability and all points in between. We are specifically looking for someone that has data lake experience with AWS or Azure, experience/exposure to Azure, Kubernetes, Windows Servers, Power Shell, Infrastructure and Application Security.

Position Responsibilities As a DevOps Engineer II within our Commissions & Substantiation team, you will:

Scope, design, and build scalable, resilient distributed systems through cross-functional collaboration throughout Software Development Lifecycle

Build highly reliable infrastructure and leverage your technical skills to drive towards efficient and optimal solution

Automate tasks, test infrastructure, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, and integration with edge data sources for Data Engineering teams to increase developer efficiency and effectiveness

Deliver high quality software and establishing best practices and processes across the organization through code reviews, test automation and mentor engineers

Utilize programming languages like Python, C# or other object-oriented languages, SQL, and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of Azure tools and services

Consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teams

Qualifications

Experience in Hybrid cloud environments with

Azure or AWS

and Linux based on-prem environment

Experience working with CI/CD, Azure Just-in-Time, VM Access, Azure Cloud Services, Azure Active Directory, Azure Automation Accounts, Azure subscription and Resource management, Kubernetes, or similar containerization technology, Docker, Helm, Terraform, GitHub, and IT automation tools like Chef or Ansible

Experience in programming languages such as Python, Java, C#, or other object-oriented languages, and in SQL, and NoSQL databases

Hands-on experience building platforms from ground up using resiliency patterns, observability, continuous delivery, and infrastructure as code

Experience implementing Spark on

Kubernetes

hosted on-prem/cloud, with monitoring and security protocols

Ability to write and implement scripts in

PowerShell , Ant, Maven, or similar build and deployment languages

Experience with Microservices, API services deployment

Strong knowledge of data formats such as Parquet, Avro, ORC, XML, JSON, data processing/data transformation using ETL/ELT tools such as DBT (Data Build Tool) or Databricks, and AI/machine learning infrastructure needs

Advanced understanding of DevOps concepts including

Azure DevOps

framework and tools

Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment

Cloud architect certifications are preferred

Minimum Requirements

3+ years of developing and maintaining software deployment processes in a Java, .NET, or Python environments

2+ years of experience with architecture and design

2+ years of experience with AWS, Azure, or hybrid data center

2+ years of experience in open-source frameworks

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience

Annual Salary $75,000.00 - $160,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
