Queen’s Heart at The Queen’s Medical Center is proud to offer state-of-the art care for patients with electrical heart disorders, providing highly specialized therapies for a variety of heart rhythm disorders. Queen’s Heart offers Ablation Therapy, also called Cardiac Ablation, which is a procedure performed by an electrophysiologist. The team at Queen’s Heart at The Queen’s Medical Center uses a multidisciplinary, patient-centered approach to provide patients with the specialized atrial fibrillation care they require, tailoring therapy to each individual patient and utilizing the latest technologies.

Job Summary / Responsibilities

Provides high-quality, coordinated, comprehensive, team-based, and patient-centered care for patients of The Queen’s Health System’s (QHS) hospitals and clinics, and other hospitals and clinics, as applicable, in the area of Orthopedic Surgery – Spine

Responsible for diagnosing and prescribing a course of treatment, surgery, and therapy for patients with disorders, malformations, diseases and/or injuries to the musculoskeletal system, with a focus and/or interest in orthopedic spine conditions.

Engages in academic medical/clinical education, training, supervision, evaluation, and research.

Works cooperatively within collaborative practice models.

Supports the vision and values to enhance the provision of quality health care and optimize the health status of QHS patients, and supports The Queen’s Medical Center’s mission to fulfill the intent of Queen Emma and King Kamehameha IV to provide in perpetuity quality health care services to improve the well-being of Native Hawaiians and all of the people of Hawai`i.

Typical Physical Demands

Finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.

Constant: sitting, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.

Frequent: walking.

Occasional: standing, stooping/bending, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, lifting and carrying usual weight of 1 pound up to 5 pounds, reaching above, at, and below shoulder level, frequent gripping of an object.

Typical Working Conditions

Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.

Exposure to hazardous chemicals and infectious agents is an occupational risk; therefore, standard safety regulations must be maintained to avoid contamination.

Minimum Qualifications A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE :

Current Hawaii State license as an APRN or Physician Assistant in good standing

If licensed as an APRN, specialty board certification aligned with area of assignment is required.

Depending on area of assignment, prescriptive authority for non-controlled and controlled substances may be required.

Depending on area of assignment, additional certification(s) may be required.

Credentialing and privileging required if providing medical level of care.

Current BLS certification.

B. EXPERIENCE :

If licensed as an APRN, two (2) years nursing experience or successful completion of an APRN Fellowship Program for any APRN position.

One (1) year of clinical experience working as an APRN or Physician Assistant preferred.

Additional Requirements

Current board certification in one (1) of the following:

Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)

Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP)

Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP)

Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP)

Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP)

Adult Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP)

Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP)

Prescriptive authority for non-controlled and controlled substances.

Current ACLS certification.

Clinical base annual salary: $153,878.00
