Groundskeeper – Grounds Maintenance

Location: Historic Old Town, Southernmost Beach Resort, Key West, FL – beachfront resort with 6 acres of landscaped property.
Overview The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the exterior grounds in the best possible condition with minimal impact on guests and staff. Tasks include grass, tree, shrub trimming, planting, and general upkeep.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with guests and employees.
Listen to, understand, and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests.
Multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
Attend all hotel‑required meetings and trainings.
Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Hotel Standards.
Maintain high standards of personal appearance, including proper uniform and nametag.
Compliance with hotel standards and regulations for safe operations.
Identify problems and assist in implementing solutions.
Handle problems efficiently, anticipating and preventing issues.
Apply complex information and data to meet objectives.
Cross‑train in other hotel areas as needed.
Maintain confidentiality of information.
Show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
Maintain a clean, safe work area.
Water plants, shrubs, trees, and flowers as necessary.
Trim, prune, fertilize, and maintain all trees, plants, and shrubs.
Plant grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs throughout the grounds.
Use all tools and equipment safely and correctly.
