Vaco Recruiter Services
Our client, aprestigious investment office is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. The firm manages the complete wealth portfolio—spanning both active and passive investments—for an ultra-high-net-worth executive with a distinguished record of founding and growing several multi-billion-dollar corporations over the past two decades.
This newly created role will support accounting, financial operations, and tax activities across a diverse mix of entities and investments, including private equity, real estate, hedge funds, and other alternative vehicles. Reporting directly to the Controller and collaborating closely with a small, high-performing accounting team, this position will oversee day-to-day entity accounting and assist with year-end tax preparation, including Form 1065s for pass-through entities and individual filings.
Responsibilities
Manage daily accounting for multiple entities within the family’s investment portfolio, including real estate holdings, private companies, hedge funds, and other vehicles.
Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements and monitor investment performance across all holdings.
Manage cash flow, capital calls, distributions, and intercompany transfers with detailed and accurate recordkeeping.
Collaborate with external accountants, tax advisors, and investment managers to support annual audits, tax filings, and financial reporting.
Maintain and enhance accounting systems and processes to ensure organized, timely, and accurate information flow.
Prepare analytical reports and summaries for the principal and investment team to support financial planning and strategic decisions.
Reconcile investment statements and valuations to ensure accuracy and consistency across entities.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
Minimum 3+ years of experience in a CPA firm, family office, or investment-focused organization.
Strong foundation in both accounting and tax concepts, with exposure to a variety of entity structures and investment types.
Proficiency with accounting systems and a strong working knowledge of Excel (or comparable analytical tools).
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across internal teams and external partners.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
