Database Engineer/ Database Administrator.
Your Mission As a Database Engineer/Administrator with us, you will play a pivotal role designing, deploying, and securing cutting‑edge, cloud‑based database solutions for Virginia’s leading Intelligence and Defense organizations.
Job Details This role is a full‑time, in‑person position, primarily based in the office with occasional visits to client sites. We are seeking candidates who reside in the Virginia/Washington DC region.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only
US: Hiring Range in USD from: $97,500 to $199,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Responsibilities What You’ll Do: (Required Skills)
Administer, configure, and monitor Oracle Autonomous Database (ADB) environments, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security.
Design and implement robust data warehouse solutions, leveraging best practices for schema design, partitioning, and optimized query performance.
Plan and execute end‑to‑end database migrations to Oracle Autonomous Database (ADB) using Oracle Zero Downtime Migration (ZDM) while ensuring data integrity and minimal business disruption.
Implement advanced data security measures in ADB, including Virtual Private Database (VPD) and Oracle Label Security (OLS), to enforce fine‑grained data access controls.
Design and manage data lake architectures on ADB, integrating diverse data sources and enabling seamless data ingestion, transformation, and analytics.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop ETL pipelines, data governance strategies, and reporting solutions within the OCI ecosystem.
Monitor, tune, and troubleshoot environments, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues to maintain high system health.
Document configurations, procedures, and best practices for ADB management, security policies, and migration strategies.
Familiarity with multiple RDMS products in addition to Oracle’s on‑premise and cloud services to include:
MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, or Oracle Database Engineering
Install and utilize Oracle Enterprise Manager to monitor, manage, and optimize Autonomous Database (ADB) environments, ensuring comprehensive performance analysis, alerting, and reporting capabilities.
DBA experience Including the following Database technologies:
RAC (Real Application Clusters), Multitenant (create, cloning, dropping, CDBs and PDBs), Data Guard (Physical Standby and Active Data Guard),
Unified Auditing, RMAN (Recovery Manager), DB patching, hardening Oracle Automated Storage Management (ASM), Database
troubleshooting/Fault identification
Experience writing SQL/PLSQL code
Experience configuring and querying Oracle Audit
Experience with Linux (use & navigation, and shell scripting knowledge)
Must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Poly
Preferred
Oracle Database and Cloud certifications (OCA, OCP, OCI)
Experience with Oracle Data Vault, Key Vault, GoldenGate, or similar data capture/replication
Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) and configuration management best practices
