Overview VETERANS ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY Lonestar Electric Supply is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support the daily functions of the HR department and serve as a versatile resource to managers, employees, and leadership. This role will touch all aspects of HR, including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, payroll/benefits administration, engagement programs, and culture-building initiatives. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and eager to contribute to a fast-paced, growing company environment.
Responsibilities Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments (e.g., safety training, anti-harassment, licensure, and certifications).
Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants; collaborate with managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
Oversee background checks and employee eligibility verification processes.
Implement new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
Perform tasks to administer and execute HR programs, including compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; performance and talent management; morale and recognition; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
Assist with payroll processing, employee timekeeping, and HRIS data accuracy.
Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; review policies and practices to ensure compliance.
Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and company culture activities.
Maintain knowledge of HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and technologies in human resources and employment law.
Flexibility to support any HR-related initiative as needed, including special projects, reporting, and ad-hoc employee support.
Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
At least one year of human resource management experience preferred.
SHRM-CP certification a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong time management with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Proficiency with, or ability to quickly learn, HRIS and talent management systems.
Physical Requirements Lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required infrequently.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
