We are seeking a Senior Manager, Lateral Partner Recruiting to lead firm-wide and practice group lateral partner and associate recruitment and integration strategies, including orientation and integration programs, serving as primary contact with candidates, and managing candidate sourcing relationships to position K&L Gates as a top destination for legal talent. This role ensures excellent and consistent delivery of hiring practices globally throughout the firm. Responsibilities Develop and execute lateral partner recruiting strategies aligned with the firm’s strategic goals and growth objectives Manage all aspects of the hiring process, including engaging search firms, identifying candidates, vetting them, and facilitating strategy meetings with leadership Serve as primary point of contact for partner candidates and search firms Coordinate interview schedules (in-office or video) and distribute candidate materials; solicit feedback and draft documentation as needed Collaborate with conflicts and due diligence teams while maintaining data confidentiality Advise on offers, provide market information on competitive offers and packages Ensure partner voting complies with the firm’s Partnership Agreement and Lawyers’ Manual Identify and assess hiring needs with office and practice group leadership Oversee the intent-to-hire process with thorough review and approval Source candidates via LinkedIn, Leopard Solutions, and job boards; initiate contact for lateral opportunities Directly source qualified associate candidates and promote the firm’s referral bonus policy Coordinate with the legal recruiting team on scheduling, file maintenance, pre-employment processes, and onboarding Develop onboarding and orientation programs to ensure smooth integration into the firm, office, and practice group Maintain relationships with search consultants and firms; review and negotiate fee proposals and service agreements Monitor local markets and stay informed of market trends and industry news Analyze data and metrics for lateral hiring processes Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required Advanced recruiting experience; minimum of 10 years in legal services or related industry Strong organizational, time management and interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships across all levels of the firm Ability to understand the firm’s practice areas and perform complex problem analysis Judgment and discretion in decision-making; ability to maintain confidentiality Self-motivated, creative, flexible, results-oriented; ability to work under pressure with demanding deadlines Proven ability to influence professionals and drive progress Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Outlook) and applicant data tracking software (preferably PeopleSoft) Experience with legal search firms and lateral placement agreements Experience in a law firm, partnership, or professional services environment; prior management of professionals in a junior role is a plus Additional Abilities Frequent computer use at workstation up to eight hours Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with interruptions; occasional adjusted schedules, overtime, evenings/weekends Office-based role with standard office equipment; occasional lifting and mobility as needed Compensation and Benefits Compensation ranges, eligibility-based benefits and a comprehensive benefits package are provided.
