Connecting Talent with OEM's of Next Gen Technology Position: Manufacturing Engineer As a Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible for supporting day-to-day production activities with a strong focus on documentation, process standardization, and continuous improvement. This role is ideal for someone early in their engineering career who thrives in a hands-on environment and is passionate about driving process efficiency through structured problem-solving and effective communication. This engineer will be on the production floor, responsible for documenting process setups, supporting product trials, writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and assisting in the implementation of Lean and Six Sigma initiatives. This Exempt, on-site position reports directly to the Process Engineering Manager at the CT facility. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Write, revise, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for manufacturing processes Support and document trial runs, including machine setup conditions, material settings, and process data Provide on-floor support to production teams during new product introductions, changeovers, and process troubleshooting Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate documentation and consistent process execution Assist with continuous improvement projects using structured problem-solving tools such as Six Sigma, 5S, and root cause analysis Track and analyze production metrics to identify opportunities for process optimization Maintain organized records of process trials, setup sheets, and training materials Support compliance with safety standards, quality systems, and operational procedures SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES Strong technical writing skills and experience creating or editing SOPs and work instructions Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with document management systems preferred Hands-on, self-starter with a strong floor presence and attention to detail Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Six Sigma methodologies Systematic problem-solving and data analysis skills Ability to understand equipment: mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automation systems Ability to work collaboratively with operators, technicians, engineers, and quality personnel Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills Cable manufacturing and/or extrusion process knowledge is preferred but not required EDUCATION Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (internships/co-ops count) Experience with SOP writing, documentation, or process standardization Exposure to manufacturing trials, process troubleshooting, or new product introductions preferred Relocation assistance is not available at this time.
