About the Company I’m partnering with an advanced robotics company developing next-generation autonomous systems designed for challenging, real-world environments — from industrial automation to large-scale field robotics. Their platforms blend state-of-the-art mechatronics, embedded intelligence and autonomy to push the boundaries of what robots can achieve in dynamic, unstructured settings.
This is an organisation where world-class engineers collaborate across hardware, software, and AI disciplines to build robots that can
move, sense, and decide
with exceptional precision and reliability. The team combines deep technical expertise with a mission-driven culture, creating systems that redefine how robotics interacts with the physical world.
The Role They are seeking a Senior Robotics Engineer with strong expertise in controls and embedded systems to lead the design, development, and optimisation of the company’s motion control and embedded architectures.
You’ll take ownership of real-time control systems, embedded firmware, actuator and sensor integration, and system-level reliability. This role offers the opportunity to shape the embedded and control foundations that power the next generation of autonomous robotics platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Architect and implement real-time control systems for robotic platforms, including motion control, state estimation, and feedback loops.
Design and develop embedded software (C/C++, RTOS, embedded Linux) for microcontrollers, motor controllers, and sensor interfaces.
Integrate sensors (IMUs, LiDAR, encoders, cameras) and actuators into a unified control framework.
Model, simulate, and tune control algorithms (PID, state-space, MPC) to optimise performance across dynamic environments.
Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and autonomy engineers to deliver cohesive, production-grade systems.
Lead debugging, testing, and validation of embedded and control systems both in lab and field conditions.
Contribute to systems architecture decisions, ensuring scalable, reliable, and maintainable embedded platforms.
Mentor junior engineers and help shape best practices in embedded and controls engineering.
Required Experience
Degree in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar technical field.
5+ years of experience developing embedded and control systems for robotics, automation, or mechatronic platforms.
Strong proficiency in C/C++, real-time programming, and hardware-software integration.
Deep understanding of control theory, system modelling, and tuning for dynamic robotic systems.
Hands‑on experience with communication protocols (CAN, EtherCAT, SPI, I2C, UART).
Skilled in debugging embedded hardware and firmware using oscilloscopes, analyzers, and simulation tools.
Proven ability to deliver production-ready embedded systems in time‑critical, multidisciplinary projects.
Nice to Have
Experience with robotics platforms for industrial, construction, or space applications.
Familiarity with ROS 2, sensor fusion, SLAM, or perception‑driven control.
Exposure to safety‑critical or real‑time reliability engineering.
Knowledge of FPGA/SoC or hardware acceleration for control tasks.
Why This Opportunity?
Work on cutting‑edge robotic systems that operate where others can’t — bridging autonomy, control, and intelligence.
Join a fast‑growing, well‑funded robotics company at the forefront of real‑world deployment.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, researchers, and roboticists passionate about redefining how machines move and interact.
Competitive compensation, equity options, and strong career growth potential.
