In this position, Pastry Cooks demonstrate skill in baking pastries, desserts, cakes, cookies, sweets, and pies, applying classic pastry techniques when preparing traditional items such as laminated pastries. They are responsible for monitoring and maintaining equipment, ensuring all specialized pastry tools remain in proper working order. Pastry items are baked according to pre-established recipes, decorated in a consistent style, and packaged in line with commissary guidelines.
The role also includes maintaining an organized inventory of prepped ingredients, properly labeling and storing items, and supporting a clean, safe work environment that meets sanitation, ServSafe, and safety requirements. Pastry Cooks are expected to follow all operational details, including food, service, and company standards as outlined in the employee handbook. Additional responsibilities include dishwashing to keep kitchen tools clean and sanitized, along with other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Pastry-making experience, including laminated pastry production (viennoiserie) required.
Certification of culinary training or apprenticeship preferred.
Demonstrates adequate pastry skills and operations.
