Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, within university policy and salary schedules, as well as departmental budgets.
Minimum Salary: $52,602.48
Mid Range Salary: $64,788.98
Maximum Salary: $76,975.48

Working Hours
37.5 hours per week (Day shift)
Work Arrangement
Position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement under Rutgers Policy 60.3.22. The pilot program was effective from September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, may be subject to change, and require approval through the FlexWork@RU Application System.
Responsibilities
Provides administrative support for assigned unit/department(s) within FASC. Plans, organizes, executes, and coordinates office procedures and routines. Performs diversified and confidential, secretarial, clerical, and basic administrative duties that require judgment in the resolution of routine administrative processing issues and in the selection of the proper procedures to employ. Performs professional work that requires knowledge of general administrative/office management practices including email, telephone, filing, faxing, data entry, spreadsheet creation, and report generation. Provides complex administrative support and customer-oriented services with the expectation that specific duties may shift depending on departmental need.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience: Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of office administration, organization, coordination, facilitation, bookkeeping, and/or report writing.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Requires the same education/experience as above.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills, tact, and diplomacy and maintain a pleasant work environment.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and externals.
- Must have effective client service skills.
- Must be able to work independently, take initiative, and multitask under pressure.
- Must have acute attention to detail.
- Data entry, word-processing, typing skills, working knowledge of spreadsheets and email.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Cornerstone, Blackboard, and the university’s policies and procedures is preferred. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel, is a plus.
Equipment Utilized
Knowledge of, or ability to learn, course platforms such as Blackboard and Sakai and to help faculty with their use as necessary.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Communication skills, flexibility in an ever-changing environment. Must be able to multitask under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
