Join Management & Training Corporation as an Addiction Severity Tester at our East Texas Treatment Facility in Henderson, Texas. The position supports the safe and effective treatment of inmates in compliance with Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) directives.

Pay: $17.85 per hour.

Work schedule: Full‑time, Monday‑Friday, 8‑hour days.

Position Summary

Reports to the designated community team lead. Responsible for providing and completing assessments, implementing complex treatment and discharge plans, and providing counseling services to inmates. Serves as a professional resource to other counselors in resolving complex case problems and provides clinical supervision and guidance as appropriate.

Essential Functions

  • Designs and implements comprehensive treatment plans (CTP) and comprehensive assessment plans (CAP); conducts intensive or comprehensive interventions.
  • Assumes independent clinical responsibility for all inmates, including crisis intervention techniques (e.g., suicide prevention).
  • Collaborates with supervisors and other professionals on case‑related issues to maintain continuity of care.
  • Conducts evaluation tests for inmates to determine needs, establish goals, and develop plans; makes referrals to contract professionals for assessment and treatment.
  • Provides recommendations regarding CAP; makes case presentations; assists the program director and treatment team.
  • Maintains confidentiality of inmate records and reviews inmate status.
  • Maintains accurate and complete case reports, records, and statistics for program evaluation.
  • Attends scheduled staff meetings; promotes communication among administration, staff, and inmates.
  • Promotes positive social skill development and intervenes when inappropriate behaviors are observed; provides regular feedback to staff.
  • Maintains accountability of inmates and adheres to safety practices.

Education And Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (CHEA or USDE).
  • Four (4) years of full‑time, wage‑earning substance abuse treatment experience.
  • Current valid licensure as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern (LCDC‑I) by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS).
  • Current valid certification as Certified Criminal Justice Professional‑Applicant (CCJP‑A) by the Texas Certification Board of Addiction Professionals.
  • Current valid licensure as Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA) by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors.
  • Must maintain valid licensure or certification for continued employment in the position.
  • A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (unless waived).

Post Hire Requirements

Must complete Correctional Awareness Training (CAT) prior to inmate contact, annual in‑service training, and annual background check approved by Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
