Job Summary: As a global leader in networking solution innovation, Super Micro Computer's mission is to develop and provide the market with end-to-end computing solutions and high-performance networking products. We have an immediate need for a Hardware Design Engineer to join our design team. The candidate will play a key role in the development of in-house server motherboards, collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams and outside partners to ensure robust board design. The candidate should be self-motivated with a result-driven mindset to develop competitive and enduring board products.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for schematics capture, layout checking, BOM generating, and debugging/testing of server motherboards, add-on cards, and backplane products
  • Collaborate with layout engineers, validation engineers, software engineers, firmware engineers, product engineers, and other teams to identify and solve engineering issues in early stages to ensure and enhance product quality
  • Prepare technical documentation including product specifications, layout instructions, and test procedures
  • Ensure products conform to engineering specifications, EMC and energy regulations, and customer performance expectations
  • Provide clear documents and strong technical support to contract manufacturers and the production department during sample and production stages

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with 1 year of experience working with x86 server/workstation boards (preferred)
  • Deep understanding of x86 architecture; comprehensive knowledge of PCB layout, debugging tools and software, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of PCB layout, OrCAD/Allegro tools, circuit design, and PCB structure
  • Knowledge of high-speed circuit design and voltage regulation design
  • Familiar with digital scope and high-speed bus measurement
  • Excellent organizational skills, problem-solving ability, and ability to learn new concepts and technologies
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced environment

Salary Range

$98,000 - $155,000

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
