Solid Waste Engineer – Project Manager

Job Location: Toledo, Ohio, USA. Category: Waste Management. Type: Full-Time.

Overview

As a Solid Waste Engineer with Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc., you will interact with office and field staff, clients, regulators, and contractors, primarily focusing on Ohio and Michigan based projects. Your effort will be part of the overall completion of landfill design, permitting, and construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation, review and compilation of permit applications, proposals, and technical reports;
  • Management of engineering tasks such as airspace and soil balance volume calculations, slope stability and settlement analysis, stormwater management system design, leachate management system design, and landfill gas collection system design;
  • Management of Construction Quality Assurance projects including landfill cell liner/leachate collection systems, gas collection systems, cap construction, and environmental monitoring of landfill facilities.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering;
  • 6+ years of Civil, solid waste or geotechnical engineering experience;
  • Ability to coordinate the regulatory agency review process;
  • Sound understanding of business principles of consulting projects and related project delivery tools;
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Ohio;
  • Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or familiarity with HELP Model, HydroCAD, Slide, or KYPipe calculations.
