Our client is a leading pet industry startup based in Chicago. They are seeking an Accounting Associate to join the team. Amazing benefits include unlimited PTO! This position is hybrid and based 3 out of 5 days per week at their beautiful office in Chicago.

Job Details

1. Coordinate annual and quarterly filings
2. Assist with preparation and management of budgets
3. Prepare financial statements and coordinate audits
4. Ensure proper expense coding and compliance
5. Review and post journal entries to the general ledger
6. Report, research, and correct variances
7. Execute general account reconciliations
8. Salary Range: $80-100k annually, based on experience

Skills and Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree required – preferably in Finance, Accounting, or related field
2. 2-4 years of experience in Accounting
3. Strong knowledge of US GAAP
4. Precise, detail-oriented, and good with numbers
5. Proficient in Excel
6. Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
7. Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent follow-through
