HAVENWYCK HOSPITAL (a UHS facility) - Part Time 9:00am-3:30pm

The Unit Secretary is responsible for the clerical functions on the unit, acts as a receptionist for the program and is under the supervision of the Clinical Nurse Manager.

Position Summary:

The Unit Secretary is responsible for the clerical functions on the unit, acts as a receptionist for the program and is under the supervision of the Clinical Nurse Manager.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Acts as receptionist for unit/program, answers telephone, takes messages and delivers them.
  • Completes the appropriate documentation for patient room changes.
  • Inputs requests for Plant Operations and assures follow up.
  • Maintains patient medical records.
  • Files lab work, EEG and EKG results in the patient’s chart after the physician reviews and signs the record.
  • Contacts the Admitting department when a patient arrives to be admitted.
  • Break down discharge charts.
  • Notifies physicians of consults.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required.
  • Experience in hospital clerical preferred.
