Job Summary: As a Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT/A), you will support patient care under the supervision of a Nurse Leader and the direction of a Registered Nurse. Your responsibilities will include essential direct and indirect patient care activities to foster a safe and efficient environment. You’ll be an integral part of the care team, committed to ensuring a positive patient experience. This position thrives in a high-activity work environment characterized by multiple priorities, requiring flexibility in your schedule. Requirements: Education:
Completion of an accredited Patient Care Technician, Emergency Medical Technician, or Medical Assistant Training Course recognized by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). Must complete Hartford HealthCare-approved PCT Preceptor training within 90 days of hire or transfer. Experience:
Minimum one year of experience as an acute care nursing assistant required. Must demonstrate the ability to fulfill the responsibilities of a Patient Care Tech Level 3. Licensure and Certification:
Active certification as a CPCT/A, EMT, or CMA required. Must maintain certification and obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the AHA within 60 days of hire. Skills and Abilities: Exceptional communication skills, capable of fostering a healthy work environment and assisting patients effectively. Advanced knowledge of medical terminology and strong organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team setting and handle multiple priorities. Demonstrates a commitment to exceptional customer service and cultural sensitivity. Proficient in phlebotomy and EKG/telemetry procedures. Flexibility to respond to changes in work schedules as needed.
