Job Description Coweta Dentistry is looking for a Dental Assistant to join our team! At Coweta Dentistry – we strive to be a community that people want to join. We are looking for long-term relationships with our teams, our patients, and our community. As a Dental Assistant, you will ensure the Dentists are set up for success prior to interfacing patients and during patient procedures. The DA clearly communicates to the Dentist – the patients’ needs/request and other education, procedures, diagnosis, and treatment related matters prior to treatment. The DA performs a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties, in addition to performing work chair-side as the Dentist examines and treats patients and works proactively to ensure the Dentist clinical/hygiene needs are met. The DA is responsible for making patients comfortable as they are seated in the dental chair, preparing the patient for treatment, and obtaining the accurate patient dental records. Some other DA responsibilities are handing instruments and materials to the Dentist, keeping the patients' mouths dry and clear by using suction or other devices, making temporary crowns and bridges, taking impressions, x-rays, intraoral scans, sterilizing and disinfecting instruments and equipment, cleaning rooms, preparing lab slips and managing lab cases, preparing trays of instruments for dental procedures, and instructing patients on postoperative and general oral health care. Minimum Eligibility Requirements High school diploma or GED. Certified and Expanded Functions Dental Assistant. Use of dental/medical technology. Must be detail oriented and organized Must possess excellent customer service skills and work well under pressure Strong computer skills including Dentrix Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment Ability to work independently as well as with a team Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills Must pass criminal background check Additional Eligibility Requirements Current CPR certification.
