Job Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical
Sales Data Analyst
to evaluate account credit requests and deductions. This role will kick off in California and will later expand into templating policies, controls, and analytics for other states. Your expertise will blend financial analysis with risk assessment and clear communication to support Sales effectively while minimizing friction. What You’ll Do Intake and assess credit requests; evaluate risks and approve or deny requests in accordance with company policy and regulations. Verify eligibility and required documentation; compile audit-ready packages and systematically track your decisions. Analyze customer, SKU, and regional trends to identify high-risk patterns and recurring issues. Design preventative controls such as approval matrices, thresholds, maker-checker reviews, sampling audits, and necessary documentation templates. Provide recommendations for adjustments to price books, promotional setups, and contracts. Clearly document and present decisions to Sales and Finance leadership with well-supported rationale. Monitor credit activity portfolio for unusual patterns, outliers, and fraud risks, keeping up-to-date with market and regulatory changes. Prepare and publish reporting and guidance while training cross-functional teams on submission quality and policy updates. Collaborate with Accounting and Operations to ensure smooth transitions to execution systems (without AR responsibilities). What You Bring 5+
years of experience in sales analysis, credit analysis, trade spend, pricing or promotions analytics, risk and controls, or internal audit. A strong risk analysis mindset and practical fraud prevention instincts. Comfortable with financial concepts and modeling to evaluate credit viability and its impact on revenue and margins. Excellent negotiation and communication skills to align effectively with Sales and customers regarding outcomes and terms. A proven track record of building policies and processes that document, standardize, and scale workflows across multiple states. Tools You’ll Use Familiarity with
