Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Faculty Group Practice Vascular Technologist (37.5). In this role, the successful candidate performs vascular studies on assigned patients, participates in continuous quality improvement and chart review, and collaborates with the Vascular Medical Director to promote the appropriateness of studies. The vascular technologist adheres to policies and procedures, and to the requirements of The Joint Commission and the Inter‑Societal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL).

Job Responsibilities

Maintains equipment by thoroughly cleaning it and keeping it fully equipped for use.

Thoroughly washes the machines after each patient use.

Ensures that equipment is stocked with necessary supplies to perform daily vascular studies.

Performs organizational tasks within the Department.

Efficiently organizes workload.

Consistently maintains filing and enters data for vascular studies to remain current.

Performs chart reviews.

Uses Infection Control practices and procedures.

Demonstrates correct hand washing techniques.

Performs and promotes compliance with policies and procedures regarding electrical safety, hazard identification, waste disposal, and standard precautions.

Uses and monitors equipment appropriately and safely.

Reports patient care outcomes information to members of the team, as appropriate.

Serves as a resource for problem solving to all members of the team, as appropriate.

Performs accurate, timely documentation using appropriate forms.

Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care.

Demonstrates correct use of PPE techniques, identifies monitors, and adheres to sterile boundaries.

Performs vascular studies on referred patients.

Reviews patient medical status and medications prior to study.

Accurately measures and calculates pressure using pulse wave methods on all extremities of the body (carotid, legs).

Conducts studies referred by physicians or specialists; conducts studies for out‑patients as referred.

Notifies appropriate physician when a study needs to be reviewed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

Completion of an accredited program relating to vascular technology, required.

3‑5 years of non‑invasive training in the Diagnostic Vascular field.

Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, and organization skills.

Ability to operate ultrasound units and perform blood pressures.

Required Licenses Reg Vascular Technologist‑Cert, Registered Vascular Specialist.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $104,000.42—$109,618.42 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses, incentives, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
