The Vice President of Operations serves as a strategic leader, driving operational excellence across all facets of the organization. This role oversees the successful execution of projects with a relentless focus on safety, quality, and profitability. With a deep understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements, the VP of Operations ensures that all corporate functions—from field operations to administrative systems—are aligned, efficient, and compliant. This executive plays a pivotal role in shaping company culture, optimizing performance, and delivering results that exceed expectations.
Location & Travel You can be located in any City or State in the United States. This is a traveling position, up to 50% of the time, encompassing work sites across the Country, and will include some overnight travel. A vehicle allowance will be provided. When overnight travel is required, meals and lodging will also be provided.

Responsibilities
Provide executive oversight and leadership of multiple projects, managing and directing Project Directors and Project Managers.
Develop and mentor staff to enable highly talented individuals to achieve future success. Collaborate and work alongside Project Services and Finance to ensure accurate job cost tracking and reporting.
Lead and promote safety in the office and on job sites.
Establish credibility throughout the organization as an effective developer of solutions to administrative business challenges, including assessing outsourcing opportunities when external support provides the most effective means to deliver required services at optimal cost and quality.
Provide technical/professional advice and knowledge to others within the various administrative areas and disciplines. Continual improvement of the budgeting process for the administrative operation through the education of department managers on budgetary issues impacting their budgets and ongoing departmental performance to the budget.
Advise, negotiate, manage and administer all contracts into which the corporation may enter. Counsel with the VP of Finance on financial matters associated with the financial viability of entering into such contracts.
Evaluate the administrative division’s structure and team plan to continuously improve efficiency and effectiveness, while fostering professional and personal growth opportunities for individuals wherever possible.
Serve as a member of the Executive team, attending all executive staff meetings and actively contributing to the organization’s overall success.
Attend trade shows and conferences as needed.
Must be able to direct, manage, lead and mentor 5-10 direct employees.
Manage, lead direct reports, and mentor.
Other duties as requested.
Qualifications Education and Work Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Construction Management, Engineering, or related major or equivalent combination of education and experience.
15 years of construction industry experience/knowledge of construction techniques, estimating, project controls and construction management in addition to 10+ years of experience managing direct hire construction contracts.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
At least 15 years of project management experience in power plan, heavy industrial or mining markets. Direct P&L responsibility for projects ranging from $5M to over $100M in value.
Experience in Project Controls systems and usage including P6, Heavy Job or InEight.
Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects in varying geographies and Industrial markets. Strong communication skills.
Physical Demands This position requires prolonged sitting at a desk and working at a computer. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
