Employment Attorney
Location – Los Angeles, Orange County, or San Francisco, CA (Hybrid)
Tucker Ellis LLP is seeking an experienced Employment Attorney to join our growing Labor & Employment practice in any of our California offices—Los Angeles, Orange County, or San Francisco. This position offers a hybrid work schedule and the opportunity to work with a nationally recognized team on sophisticated employment litigation and counseling matters.
About the Role Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced management-side employment attorney with a modest portable practice (approximately $200,000+ in portables) to help expand our practice in California. This is an ideal opportunity for a talented counsel-level attorney seeking an entrepreneurial environment with the support and resources of an Am Law 200 firm.
Key Responsibilities
Represent employers in single-plaintiff and complex employment litigation, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour matters
Handle all aspects of litigation from inception through trial or resolution
Advise clients on employment law compliance, policies, and risk management
Draft and argue motions, conduct discovery, and manage case strategy
Take and defend depositions
Participate in mediation, arbitration, and trial proceedings
Collaborate with partners and firm leadership to grow client relationships and develop new business
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Minimum of 7 years of experience in employment litigation, ideally with experience representing management
Modest portable book of business (approximately $200,000 or more)
Demonstrated ability to manage cases independently and provide practical business-oriented advice
Exceptional written and oral advocacy skills
Strong client relationship and business development skillsAdmission to practice in California

Salary Range: Starting at $220,000+ per year, with compensation commensurate with experience and portable business. Actual compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and the extent of portable clients.
