Responsibilities Machine Learning & Predictive Modeling
Develop, test, deploy, and monitor machine learning models aimed at improving learner retention, performance, and predictive analytics.
Provide expert insights and recommendations on the strategic use of analytics and machine learning technologies within educational contexts.
Develop early‑warning models to flag at‑risk learners and recommend interventions.
Create mastery prediction models to support personalized learning paths.
Conduct A/B testing and experimentation to validate predictive model effectiveness.
Data Engineering & Pipeline Development
Manage Tier 1 requests and escalated Tier 2 requests.
Formulate and implement monitoring systems procedures and work plans.
Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines to support learning analytics projects.
Ensure data integrity, reliability, and compliance with privacy standards and educational data regulations.
Perform basic data maintenance and ensure accurate data flow across systems.
Collaborate with security and compliance teams to operationalize FERPA‑aligned data governance practices.
DevOps and System Integration
Lead DevOps processes for the Learning Analytics environment.
Ensure robust model deployment, performance monitoring, and continuous integration and deployment.
Collaboration and Reporting
Prepare and modify technical and capacity documentation.
Track service requests.
Maintain history reports, IDs, and addresses of recurring problems and assist in the development and execution of business process best practices across the organization.
Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather, interpret, and document business and technical requirements.
Translate requirements into scalable analytics solutions.
Communicate complex analytics results to diverse audiences, including non‑technical stakeholders.
Create visualizations and reports that support decision‑making and strategic planning.
Mentor student assistants working on data projects.
Other duties as assigned Expected Salary $75,000 - $90,000
Required Qualifications Associate’s degree and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree and five years of appropriate experience.
Extensive experience in machine learning, data engineering, and DevOps practices.
Strong proficiency in machine learning frameworks and tools such as Azure ML, Snowflake, or PyTorch.
Expertise in programming languages (Python, SQL) and cloud platforms.
Demonstrated capability in designing and managing data infrastructure and pipelines.
Exceptional analytical, collaborative, and problem‑solving skills.
Strong communication skills to effectively translate analytics results into actionable insights.
Previous experience working in educational technology and learning analytics environments.
Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management frameworks.
Proven track record of delivering impactful data‑driven solutions in a collaborative environment.
