Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Radiology Technologist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: 11/10/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Radiology Technologist with ARRT and BLS certification for evening and night shifts in an acute care setting, with strong OR and portable exam experience required. Responsibilities Position is in a general radiology department of an acute care hospital Works with both ED and inpatient x-ray imaging, including OR cases Covers adult patient population primarily for plain film and some fluoroscopic exams Average caseload of 100-150 plain films and 10-15 OR cases per day Department equipped with 2 fixed ED rooms, 1 fixed department room, 5 portable Carestream units, 1 Siemens fluoro, 1 C-arm for video swallow, 5 GE OEC surgical c-arms, cysto fluoro table, and hybrid OR vascular unit Uses Allscripts Sunrise EMR and Scimage PICOM PACS Scheduled 12-hour shifts from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., Wednesday night through Saturday morning Floats between ED and inpatient areas as needed, all x-ray only Block scheduling with some flexibility; overnight is single-tech coverage from 11:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Primary duties include performing general x-ray exams, OR imaging, and assisting with fluoroscopic studies based on experience No IV starts are required for this assignment Travelers expected to precept radiology students in the department Supervisor provides departmental guidance; no use of Registered Radiology Assistants In-house radiologist coverage Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Surgical scrubs allowed when covering OR cases; otherwise, wear light grey scrubs (not provided) Orientation conducted on scheduled shifts Participation in holiday coverage is expected Requirements Minimum of 2 years recent Radiology Technologist experience Current ARRT and BLS certifications required Proven experience in operating room and portable x-ray exams required Familiarity with Carestream, Siemens, and GE OEC equipment preferred Experience with Allscripts Sunrise EMR and Scimage PICOM PACS is beneficial License required if applicable Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627431.
