Position Title: Production Manager

Plant Location: Bath, PA

About the Role:

Keystone Cement Company is seeking a Production Manager who is authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship. The successful candidate will manage the operations, production, process, yard, shipping and workforce for these areas at all phases of the cement manufacturing process. Also, to coordinate with quarry, quality, sales, and other departments to meet production and profit goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and administer safety in all areas of responsibility. Exhibit knowledge of and ensure compliance with all safety regulations. Independently identify and initiate correction of safety hazards. Ensure that regular safety training, safety topic meetings, and task training are being completed as required under MSHA. Participate in area inspections and accident investigations as needed. Cooperate with all external inspectors as necessary.
  • Implement and direct the plans and work schedules of assigned areas to achieve the maximum effective utilization of employees, production, fuel, equipment and materials consistent with safety, compliance, and quality standards as well as meeting monthly and annual production and cost goals.
  • Responsible for refractory maintenance within the pyro-processing system; coordinate with maintenance and electrical departments.
  • Ensure close coordination between production, maintenance, process, and waste fuels departments. Manage all production contractors and monitors, reduces, and controls costs associated with those contractors. Coordinate with others on capital projects.
  • Develop both fixed and operating budgets consistent with the annual operating plan, track financial/production performance, and prepare various reports for company utilization. Also, develop a maintenance budget for kiln refractory, mill grinding media, and ensure that adequate parts are in stock while operating within approved budget guidelines.
  • Manage electricity programs and coordinate power curtailments for demand response program.
  • Support and motivate the workforce to keep a productive shift operating.
  • Effectively administer and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of collective bargaining agreement, issue discipline according to Keystone Code of Conduct and Safety Accountabilities.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and propose merit increases, promotions, transfers, discipline, and other actions.
  • Maintain working proficiency with the appropriate systems for purchasing, production, maintenance, and timecard approval procedures.
Requirements:
  • Four-year degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related degree.
  • Minimum five years' cement plant experience with an emphasis in operations.
  • Minimum two years' management experience.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational and delegation abilities.
  • Able to successfully interact in a team environment and lead a team.
  • Understand and commitment to the highest standards for industrial workplace safety, environmental compliance, dependability, and professional workmanship.
  • Familiar with MSHA regulations.
  • Thorough understanding of dry process cement manufacturing.
  • Fundamental understanding of cement chemistry, physical testing, and concrete performance.
  • Physically able to inspect plant properties climbing steps and ladders, observing at heights, and traversing uneven work surfaces.
  • Able to wear MSHA personal protective equipment required.
  • Respirator use, as needed.
