Overview
The Propulsion Basic Software (BSW) and Hardware (HW) Systems Senior Fellow will be the technical reference and coordinator for the associated technical expertise community, which includes Fellows and specialists from all regions and technical centers. This includes a focus on powertrain strategic and technological needs of the company. This position will specialize in propulsion control state of the art technologies, including but not limited to the areas of engine, transmission, and electrified powertrains with experience in system design, calibration, and testing. In this role, the Sr. Fellow should act as a responsible focal point for decoupled and advanced development as well as production implementation. The candidate should be able to provide depth and breadth of expertise and engagement in technological developments, training and mentoring.
Responsibilities
ECU throughput budgeting and optimization
Function execution order optimization
Loop time optimization
Core allocation of functions
Low level signal processing (e.g. sensor reads, filtering, noise rejection, ...)
Hardware level control functions (e.g. misfire, CVO, etc...)
Leadership/knowledge in timing functions (HW/SW)
BSW foundation and Low Level Drivers
Interfacing with ECU suppliers
Control system architecture including inter-module communications
Rapid prototyping and xIL tools
Control system validation
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
Minimum of 15 years of total work experience, with a minimum 10 years applying specialty expertise
Sustained level of achievement/performance
Demonstrated potential to teach, lead and inspire
Adept at communicating technical issues - both verbally and written
Area of expertise can be applied directly to the company's needs, now and in the foreseeable future
Effective experienced based or analytical problem solving ability
Ability to train and coach technical specialists and engineers
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
Published papers in the area of expertise
Patents in related areas
People leadership experience
Full V cycle (for controls/software) experience
Direct work deliverables that went into production
Hands on experience with modeled algorithms and production software
Experience using detailed plant model utilization for complex problem solving
