The Senior Office Support Clerk/Certified Nurse Aide Registry & Training Program Specialist will:
Support the Certified Nurse Aide Training Program, the CNA Abuse Registry, the Employee Abuse Registry, The CNA Program Coordinator and the deputy director of policy, planning and performance; Provide backup support for IPRA and FOIA records request, redacting and producing records under the direction of the division's records officer; Provide technical assistance and support to the public, facility administrators, program directors and instructors, for the CNA program, processing licensing certifications and training program approvals; Process the licensing certifications for all Certified Nurse Aides in New Mexico, processing renewals and reciprocities with other states; Assist students in CNA training programs in processing their certification applications and register for testing; Work closely with a database vendor in assisting health facilities, colleges and other training programs to approve or renewal their certification as a training program; Communicate extensively with the public, facility administrators, program directors nursing instructors, and students to explain legal requirements for certification and renewals as well as processing NATCEP waiver requests, it supports and trains users of the CNA Database system on using the system; Process and tracks all individuals who have been referred to the CNA Abuse Registry or the Employee Abuse Registry, and assists in preparing legal letters concerning sanctions, actions and petitions for the CNA and EAR Abuse registries; Provide back coverage for IPRA and FOIA requests, working with the divisions Records Officer redacting and processing requests for records. Senior Office Support Clerk/Certified Nurse Aide Registry & Training Program Specialist is responsible for:
Processing, reviewing, evaluating CNA certification applications for renews, reciprocity and new students seeking testing and professional certification as a CNA; Communicating with facility administrators, program directors and instructors, CNA's and students on regulatory requirements for certification or licensure program approval. Verifying credentials for nursing instructors, CNA and students. Processing program renewal applications, and waiver requests for NATCEP loss; Processing and tracking referrals and hearings for the CNA and EAR abuse registry, drafting and sending out legal notices; Providing and facilitating training on using the CNA data application to submit applications, update status or changes to all user groups, supporting customers to use and navigate the TMU data system to submit license and certification applications; Supporting the Program coordinator and deputy director, completing various program related tasks; Supporting and covering for the records officer, processing IPRA and FOIA records requests, redacting reports for production. Who are the customers?
Students and nurse Aides seeking new or to renew their certification, and to support facility and school training programs, administrators and instructors; Patients and residents in long term care and other facilities by assuring that CNAs are qualified for employment. Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate:
Excellent customer service and telephone skills; Ability to problem solve and trouble shoot issues; Must be well organized and have excellent communication skills; Experience evaluating training materials and curriculum; Ability to process a high volume of work within required time frames; Experience processing sensitive records and Personal Identification Information (PII). Will be a self-starter, able to work independently; Prior experience as a healthcare surveyor, training coordinator or as a nurse or certified nurse aide is preferred.
Minimum Qualification
High School diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of experience in office administration, customer service, records management technique and procedures, basic accounting, and/or business administration. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling one year (1) year may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Must Possess and maintain a current Defensive driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting, utilizing a computer, and telecommunications equipment. Occasional travel may be required to perform program oversight activities and monitoring.
