About the Role As a Construction Project Manager at Cupertino Electric, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of construction projects and the successful management of a high-performing team. You will manage planning, execution, and financial performance of projects using business practices consistent with the company values.

Responsibilities

Manage and lead projects and project teams from qualification through closeout, ensuring all project and contractual agreements are met within budgets and timeframes.

Establish project execution plan and provide scheduling and coordination for each project, collaborating with the Superintendent and field team.

Identify project risks and potential issues, developing and executing recovery action plans.

Manage project financials, review and approve invoices, track budget variance, job cost, and productivity, and report on financial performance.

Successfully negotiate change orders.

Act as key point of contact with customers and end-user owners, manage and develop customer and subcontractor relationships, source and qualify new opportunities.

Develop and manage a high-performance team, providing mentorship and training to employees.

Scope Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet goals. Provides direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance. Administers company policies that directly affect subordinate employees. Recommends changes to unit or sub-unit policies. Management reviews work to measure meeting of objectives.

Complexity Works on issues where analysis of situation or data requires review of relevant factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action.

Discretion Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results will cause delays in schedules.

About You You possess dynamic leadership and management skills to influence and drive positive outcomes. You have thorough knowledge of estimating, project cost accounting, scheduling, procurement, productivity tracking, and reporting methods necessary to profitably complete electrical construction projects. You have experience with union workforces, labor rate calculations, and collective bargaining agreements, and you have a history of successfully leading teams and are passionate about developing employees.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or similar preferred.

Five (5) years of experience in electrical construction or related activities in a leadership role managing multi-million-dollar projects, including the commercial, utility, alternative energy, or data center markets.

Valid state-issued driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
