Workers Compensation Claims Manager Job Location: Chicago, IL, United States.

Overview This position is hybrid out of our Chicago, IL office. We require 2 days on‑site with 3 work‑from‑home days per week.

AmTrust Financial Services is a fast‑growing commercial insurance company. The WC Claims Supervisor works with the Claim Adjusters to manage and ensure the Workers' Compensation claims activities are handled within AmTrust Best Practices. They develop and maintain professional customer and broker relations by identifying and meeting customer needs and ensure staff demonstrates customer service principles.

Responsibilities

Develop short‑range area plans and budgets with the Claim Supervisors to achieve company goals and objectives.

Secure, evaluate, and develop staff; ensure that staff works effectively as a team.

Keep the Claim Supervisors and Manager informed of current case status through regular communications and reports.

Ensure that all AmTrust policies, procedures, and controls are followed; consult with Claim Supervisors on claim areas needing improvement.

Work with staff to ensure that approved vendors are used; monitor the attorney vendor panel and meet with firms to discuss action plans for cost‑effective results.

Monitor claims with Supervisors, ensuring proactive cost‑effective and creative cost management.

Negotiate claim settlements, participate and testify before hearings, trials, and depositions, ensuring timely and cost‑effective resolution.

Support AmTrust sales and marketing goals by participating with underwriting in sales activities, including new business development.

Evaluate the performance of the claims staff at regular intervals to ensure consistent implementation of company standards and internal quality control, through audits.

Maintain current knowledge of related laws and regulations and communicate to staff.

Perform other projects as assigned.

Qualifications

BA/BS degree or equivalent.

Five or more years of progressive management plus required examiner experience within the Workers' Compensation insurance industry.

SIP certificate where required.

Working knowledge of budgeting and profit/loss management.

Experience with computerized claims management and office systems.

Thorough knowledge of related government laws and regulations.
