Overview
The Data Scientist will play a key role in driving data-driven decision making and automation initiatives across the organization. This position supports underwriting, claims, fraud detection, and customer experience functions through advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI-driven insights. The ideal candidate combines strong technical ability with business acumen in the insurance domain. Key Responsibilities
Analyze structured and unstructured insurance data (claims, policies, customer interactions) to identify trends and insights. Develop and maintain machine learning models for predictive analytics, fraud detection, and risk assessment. Collaborate with business units to identify opportunities to apply AI/ML for process improvement and automation. Clean, prepare, and transform large datasets from multiple internal and external data sources. Create dashboards, visualizations, and reports to communicate AI model results to business stakeholders. Partner with data scientists, data engineers, and actuaries to deploy and monitor production AI models. Evaluate AI tools and technologies to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards. Ensure all AI solutions comply with data privacy, governance, and ethical AI guidelines. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field (Master’s desirable). 3+ years of experience in data analytics, machine learning, or AI-focused roles (insurance or financial services industry). Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar). Experience with AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn. Understanding of insurance operations, risk modeling, or claims analytics is highly desirable. Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical findings into actionable business recommendations. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and data pipelines is a plus. Skills
Knowledge of NLP, LLMs, or generative AI applications in document processing or customer service. Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks for AI in insurance. Experience working with actuarial or underwriting teams. Company Description
