Our hospital is a full-service veterinary facility treating approximately 50% exotic species (small mammals, birds, reptiles) as well as domestic animals (dogs and cats). We utilize top-of-the-line diagnostics including digital radiographs, ultrasound, in-house laboratory diagnostics, and laser and light therapy. We are currently hiring a full or part-time veterinarian interested in medicine and surgery for various small species (dogs, cats, birds including psittacines, passerines, poultry, waterfowl; rabbits; ferrets; small mammals like hedgehogs, chinchillas, guinea pigs, callitrichids; reptiles; and small ruminants). Job Summary We seek a compassionate veterinarian to join our successful clinic. If you are passionate about animal care, we want to meet you. Salary is based on experience, hours, and abilities. Responsibilities: Perform routine exams on dogs, cats, and ideally non-traditional exotic mammals (ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, hedgehogs, chinchillas, rats, etc.), birds (parrots, chickens, ducks, etc.), and reptiles Diagnose issues and recommend treatments Perform soft tissue surgery and dentistry Administer species-appropriate vaccinations Advise pet owners on preventative healthcare, nutrition, and overall pet well-being Interpret radiographs Potentially perform FAST scans and abdominal ultrasounds Update client records using EMR (we are paperlight) with Avimark software Qualifications: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent Previous experience preferred but training available Knowledge of medical equipment and anesthesia Excellent communication skills Problem-solving abilities Patience and a love for animals of all species Compassion
