What you’ll do The Brass Tacks:

Guest Relations & Customer Service

Greet and welcome guests promptly and warmly.

Manage reservations and waitlists using POS or reservation software.

Handle guest complaints or special requests professionally.

Ensure guests are seated efficiently and courteously.

Team Leadership & Training

Overlook, train, and support other hosts/hostesses.

Delegate daily tasks (e.g., seating rotation, cleaning schedules).

Lead pre-shift meetings or coordinate with management on daily expectations.

Serve as the main point of contact between the front desk team and other departments.

Seating Management & Flow

Maintain an accurate floor plan and table rotation chart.

Balance server sections for optimal coverage.

Monitor dining room status and adjust seating plans to maximize efficiency.

Communicate with kitchen and waitstaff to prevent seating bottlenecks.

Administrative & Operational Tasks

Manage reservations, cancellations, and special events in the system.

Track guest counts and update shift reports.

Assist the MOD on any related tasks.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance area.

Communication & Coordination

Coordinate closely with servers, bussers, and management.

Notify staff of VIPs, allergies, or special guest needs.

Ensure smooth transitions between seating and dining experiences.

The Nitty Gritty

1 year prior food service host experience preferred

Necessary State Food Handler’s License(s)

Where you'll work In the new heart of Woodinville the beauty of the Pacific Northwest meets its newest destination, The SOMM Hotel and Spa. The SOMM is set to be the centerpiece of a 20-acre master-planned development in Woodinville, Washington.

The SOMM Hotel and Spa is a 164-room luxury hotel that will offer a blend of upscale accommodations and amenities. The project is part of Harvest, a town square-style development that will house nearly 100,000 square feet of restaurants, bars, wine-tasting rooms, and recreation. It also includes hundreds of apartments and townhouses, making it a comprehensive destination in its own right.

The hotel itself is designed to be a haven of comfort and indulgence. It features a signature restaurant, rooftop bar, 10,000 sq ft of meeting spaces, and a 5,661-square-foot spa. Additionally, there will be 9,000 square feet of retail space that will complement the hotel’s offerings. This retail section is expected to include wine-tasting rooms, restaurants, and other facilities.
