The
Case Management Modernization (CMM) Program
is an initiative to support the
Administrative Office of the US Courts
develop a modern cloud‑based solution for all federal courts, grouped into Appellate, District, and Bankruptcy. The system will eventually replace the current Case Management and Electronic Case Filing (CM/ECF) system.
The
Automation Test Engineer
will work as part of an agile development team to build and support the modernization of enterprise‑class software applications.
Meaningful Work and Personal Impact As an
Automation Test Engineer , your work will directly support the mission of the
Administrative Office of the US Courts . Key responsibilities include:
Evaluate and understand system requirements and capabilities for test automation
Setup and configure test automation framework in the cloud environment
Facilitate continuous development and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline
Work with manual testers to prioritize automation for maximum value
Design, develop, and run automated test scripts in the cloud
Comply with established version control and coding standards
Develop test procedures to validate and verify requirements and capabilities
Configure test environments and test data sets
Apply knowledge of the software lifecycle and testing cycles
Apply in‑depth knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle to anticipate complexities
Maintain strong communication skills
Use modern web client technologies and front‑end to back‑end interactions
Develop and test software using Agile/Scrum methodology
What You’ll Need to Succeed Education:
Bachelor of Science Experience:
5+ years integration, regression, and system testing with automated tools in web‑based applications Required Skills:
Write test cases, test plans, execute scripts, report defects, prepare results
Fully participate in the QA life cycle and documentation of test artifacts
Develop automated scripts on ReactJS and NodeJS using Selenium, Playwright, Jest, Mocha, Chai, etc.
Setup and configure cloud‑based test automation frameworks (AWS or Azure preferred)
Define automation test strategies for cloud‑based green‑field development initiatives
Test APIs through gateways and cloud services
Apply industry standards for cloud‑based test automation frameworks
Know cloud concepts such as SaaS, containerization with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift
Manage and execute tests using NUnit and TestNG
Develop test plans, procedures, expected outcomes, and verification statements
Understand cloud, Agile, and DevSecOps methodology and culture
Use source version control, build/release tools, and build processes
Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
Present and communicate results clearly
Adopt a consultant mindset and build strong customer relationships
Identify and apply best practices, emerging technologies, and industry tools
Analyze problems, propose solutions, and communicate recommendations
Work independently and as part of a team
Security Clearance Level Ability to obtain a Public Trust position with the Administrative Office of the US Courts
