General Information: The Department of Health Sciences offers an engaging Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences. The program serves approximately 1,500 declared majors and prepares students to understand disease causes, health promotion, wellness, behavior change, and analytical methodologies for health at individuals and populations. Graduates are prepared for employment in allied health roles or pathways to graduate studies in medicine, optometry, pharmacy, nursing, public health, rehabilitation, and related fields. Health Sciences faculty are committed to teaching, scholarship, and service and to fostering a welcoming learning environment and student success. The department invites applications for one Tenure-track position at the Associate Professor rank with a start date in August 2026. Duties and Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate major and elective courses in Health Sciences (www.healthsci.jmu.edu). Demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship. Participate in service at the departmental, college, and university levels. Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Earned doctoral degree within an area of health sciences. Have obtained the rank of associate professor. Established a productive research agenda and plan for scholarly activity, with a demonstrated record of peer-reviewed publications and presentations. Demonstrated experience in teaching courses contributing to the curriculum, including but not limited to social determinants of health, statistical methods, chronic or infectious diseases, environmental health, program planning, health research methods, ethics in healthcare, and biomechanics for healthcare professionals. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Established record of collaborative relationships with faculty across disciplines. Evidence of interdisciplinary/interprofessional scholarship and/or teaching. Robust record of scholarly activity through peer-reviewed publications, presentations, or creative works. Professional credential within the respective discipline. Additional Posting Information
